Create Positivity Exercise 2

This is an exercise I learned at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and it is such a powerful exercise in creating positivity both in your life and in the lives of the people who you love the most.  It’s called the gratitude visit and here’s what you do:

Think of someone important to you who you haven’t properly thanked for the role they have played in your life.

Write them a letter telling them exactly how they helped you and the specific impact they’ve had on the quality of your life.

Include lots of details, make it heartfelt, and fine tune it to make it polished. Even add in some creativity; some ideas would be using calligraphy, pressing a flower to put in the envelope, adding a picture of the two of you together, fill the envelope with confetti, etc.

Meet with the person and read the letter to them yourself.

This activity brings positivity through the recognition of something that had a profound positive effect, through the act of thanking someone and therefore bringing joy to a person you love and respect, and through bringing a relationship closer together.
